Success in stroke rehabilitation depends on the ability of rehabilitation professional to negotiate and adapt to new and different clinical challenges. To provide rehabilitation professionals with the necessary state-of-the-art knowledge, a multidisciplinary stroke course is offered each year by the RIC Education and Training Center, sponsored by this RRTC. This 2-day comprehensive course is targeted to allied health professionals, nurses, and physicians, with the global objective to train rehabilitation professionals in new approaches and specialized principles and practices of rehabilitation care of individuals with stroke. Emphasis is placed on hands-on-learning, workshops, and practical skill training in addition to traditional class room lectures. Research findings from this Center are presented in this course each year. Approximately 100 clinicians, rehabilitation professionals, and consumers from throughout the U.S. and Canada attend this program.

The 2003 Annual Interdisciplinary Stroke Course is scheduled for April 3 and 4.
