Educational Materials
Education and training courses provide rehabilitation professionals with needed skills and information related to stroke. This Center will conduct a series of educational programs through the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Academy. The RIC Academy is approved to grant continued education credits for a variety of disciplines including medicine, nursing, physical and occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, psychology, social work, therapeutic recreation, athletic trainers, and vocational rehabilitation.
A State-of-the Science Conference on "Strategic Development of Products and Environments for People with Stroke: Designing for a Unique Market" is scheduled for October 6, 2006.
The LIFE Center, located in the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, has a growing collection of books, videos, magazines, and multimedia learning resources geared toward people with disabilities and their families. Community resources, such as support groups, classes, and disability-specific organizations/programs are included in the Center to connect you to relevant information.
Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation is a peer-reviewed topical interdisciplinary journal devoted to the study and dissemination of theoretical and practical information related to the subject of stroke rehabilitation.
